Boom beach 10th anniversary

This is still one of my favourite projects I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on, and it has a pretty wild story behind it. The original plan was to make the entire environment, including all the characters, edible and crafted entirely from chocolate. It quickly became a much bigger challenge than the team expected.
I wasn’t part of the main team initially, but one Saturday afternoon, I got a call. They’d realized the characters couldn’t all be made from chocolate in time and needed help coming up with a solution. Our fix? 3D print all the characters, a large prop building, and a Mega Crab with lights and everything, which also had to be waterproof since it was going to be submerged in liquid gelatine, hand-paint everything, and get it ready for the shoot.
Some of the miniatures were still tacky when they went on set, but we teamed up with an incredible cake maker whose creativity brought everything together perfectly.
Without a doubt, this was one of the craziest, most fun, and most fulfilling projects I’ve ever been a part of.
